Intrigue Dance Class Description:

Ballet/Lyrical:  Our Ballet/Lyrical Classes are offered for beginner through advanced level dancers.  This class consists of Classical Ballet Bar work, as well as Center Floor work on bodylines, positions, turns, and leaps.  Students in this class will focus on the fundamentals of Ballet including balance, flexibility, strength and control.  Students will also focus on learning the appropriate Ballet terminology in order to further their dance knowledge.  All choreography for these classes will be performed in Lyrical Ballet Style. 

Ballet is the basis of all other forms of dance, and we at Intrigue highly recommend that all dancers, regardless of their dance focus, participate in this class in order to build a strong dance foundation.

Our Ballet/Lyrical Classes are 30 minutes in duration for a monthly cost of $25.00

Jazz:  Our Jazz Classes are offered for our beginner through advanced dancers.  This class consists of stretching and flexibility as well as Jazz Dance progressions across the floor including kicks, walks, turns, leaps, & jumps.  A major focus of this class will be perfecting the rhythm, timing, and stage presence necessary for Jazz Dancers.  Choreography for this class will be performed to jazz or Broadway musical selections.

Our Jazz Classes are 30 minutes in duration for a monthly cost of $25.00

Hip-Hop:  Our Hip-Hop Classes are where you can learn the newest and hottest dance choreography from Jordan Tate, back-up dancer for the Backstreet Boys!  These classes offer a street style of dance where anything goes, and is also what is now commonly seen in popular music videos.  Dancers in these classes will focus on learning rhythm, timing and how to count music while having and unbelievable time with the choreography aspect of Hip-Hop dancing!!

Our Beginner Hip-Hop Classes are 30 minutes in duration for a monthly cost of $25.00

Our Advanced/Team Hip-Hop Classes are 60 minutes in duration for a monthly cost of $50.00

Tap:  Our Tap Classes are offered for beginner through advanced dancers.  Students in our Tap class will learn how to count music as well as how to recognize different rhythm patterns necessary to be a successful Tap dancer.  Our Tap dancers will work on various tap dance combinations as well as learning the appropriate Tap Dance vocabulary. 

Our Tap Classes are 30 minutes in duration for a monthly cost of $25.00

Technique:  Our Technique Classes are offered as a supplement for both our Competitive Ballet and Jazz Dance Classes.  We offer these classes for the more serious dancers who want more class time to prefect their skills and flexibility.  We not perform choreography or recital routines during these classes, they are solely for extra training time.  These classes are mandatory for team members and may be offered to intermediate and advanced level dancers.

Our Technique Class is 60 minutes in duration for a monthly cost of $50.00

Competitive Dance Teams:  Intrigue also hosts three levels of competitive dance teams.  Our Competitive Dance program requires an audition in order to be accepted into one of the competitive teams.  Competitive dance starts at 6 years of age and continues through the High School Level.  Auditions will be held the first week of September.  If you are interested in our Competitive Dance Team, please call 615-443-7995 for further information.
