STAFF Ginger Raines-Owner Ginger Raines in the Owner of Intrigue Athletics and opened this business on September 2nd, 2003. She began gymnastics at the age of 2 and competed until she was 16 years old when she was no longer able to participate in the sport. She has coached athletes of all ages and Levels since then, and has produced some of the top athletes in the state. Ginger is originally from Mt. Juliet, TN. where she attended Mt. Juliet High School. Ginger attended MTSU and studied Elementary Education, but lucky for all of us, decided to make the gymnastics business her career. Ginger is the proud mother of Halle (11 years old) and Aidan (7 years old) who both take classes here at Intrigue. Ginger's favorite aspect of coaching gymnastics is being able to work with children all the time. This is the easy part of the sport for her and she feels good about being a positive impact on their lives.
Phil Kingsley-Manager Phil joins the Intrigue family from Chicago, Illinois where he lived for 20 years before going away to college. Phil attended Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois where he attained a Middle School Math & Science Education degree. He then taught 8th Grade Math and Science for two years at Franklin Magnet Middle School in Champaign, Illinois. Phil found his way to Tennessee though an opportunity to coach full time as the Head Coach of the Women's Gymnastics Team at Premier Gymnastics & Tumbling in Knoxville. After a year and half as the Head Coach, Phil took on the additional responsibility of managing the facility. From this point, Phil made the tough decision to leave his positions at Premier to become the Manager of Intrigue Athletics as well as a FlipFest Camp Director. Phil continues down this path to work with children and to coach the best sport in this Country-GYMNASTICS!
Gina Becker-Office Manager Gina is originally from Mount Juliet, TN where she attended Mount Juliet High School. Gina married Tom Becker in 2000 and has inherited two beautiful daughters Brittney (18) & Nikki (10). Gina has worked as an Insurance Agent & Bookeeper for A.I.M. Insurance for the past sixteen years. Gina is also the Treasurer for the First Church of God as well as Ginger's sister and biggest fan! Gina's goal here at Intrigue is to run an efficient office where people are comfortable talking to her and feel able to work with her to make Intrigue a better facility. Gina's favorite aspect of her job her at Intrigue is getting to know the parents!
Sue Dorsey-Compulsory Head Coach Sue joins us from Murfreesboro, TN. where her husband Keith raise their three children Denis, Taylor and Kaeli. Sue started competing gymnastics at the age of 11 and competed successfully for five years. Sue has been coaching for 27 years and has many credential from her coaching career including; winning State Titles at Levels 4-10, coached Level 8 & 9 Beam Champions, USAG professional member, KAT Certified, and the list goes on and on. Sue is also extremely active with Children's Schools, is a PTO Board Member, and is the Board Secretary for RHS Soccer and Christian Middle School Baseball.
Jamie Calleja-Compulsory Team Coach Jamie is originally from Niagra Falls, New York where she gained her gymnastics experience at Niagra Gymnastics. Jamie competed competitively from 6 years old until she was 22. Over those 16 years, Jamie competed as a Level 10 athlete for 4 years-gaining an athletic scholarship to Rutgers University where she holds the balance beam record with a score of 9.80 out of a possible 10.0! Following her competitive career, Jamie decided to stick around to assist in coaching for one year after she graduated. Jamie has lived in several cities including, New York, New York, Los Angeles, and finally Nashville. Jamie is now a clothing designer for Western Wear and is married to Christopher who is a musician as well as a carpenter. Jamie one day hopes to become a judge and is very excited about beginning her compulsory coaching career her at Intrigue!
Gina Bilbrey-Recreational Coach Gina comes to us from Mount Juliet, Tennessee where she attended Mount Juliet High School. She then attended Volunteer State Community College where she attained her Associates Degree in Health and Recreation. Gina then attended Cumberland University where she attained a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. Gina participated in gymnastics and dance for eight years and was a competitive gymnast for two of those years. Gina's coaching experience includes coaching at the YMCA in Donelson, Lebanon Gymnastics, and now here with us at Intrigue. Gina has been married to Richie Bilbrey for the past 21 years. Gina and Ritchie have two beautiful children Garret and Kailey. Garret, 14, is football player and Kailey, 12, is a member of the Intrigue Competitive Gymnastics Team. Gina enjoys watching her children practice and compete within their sports, helping her husband with their construction business, gardening, big bon-fires as well as coaching gymnastics. Gina's favorite part of coaching gymnastics is when an athlete performs a skill after hard work and determination, seeing their faces once they have finally performed the skill properly. Gina feels the staff at Intrigue are very encouraging and loves being a part of the Intrigue Family!
Emily Gillis-Birthday Party Coordinator/Pre-Team & Recreational Coach Emily comes to us from Middleburg, Florida where she lived until she was 6 years old. In October 1997, Emily moved to Tennessee where she met her current coach Ginger Raines. Emily is now a Senior at Wilson Central High School where she will graduate at the top of her class! Emily learned her gymnastics coaching abilities from Ginger while helping out where she could over the past ten years. Emily enjoys creating a fun and energetic learning atmosphere and encouraging children to do their best with whatever task they may face. When it comes to Birthday Parties, Emily's goal is to make the birthday boy/girl have the best Birthday party ever!! Her favorite part about being an Instructor at Intrigue is observing an athlete achieve a new skill that they have worked so hard on, and just loves working with children!
Terri Johnson-Recreational Coach Terri has been involved with the sport of gymnastics for over 11 years. During that time, she has taught a wide variety of classes ranging from pre-school and beginner to pre-team, advanced tumbling and cheerleading. For a 5 year period, she worked 15+ hours per week with compulsory and optional gymnasts as a USAG certified coach working in the areas of vault, bars, beam and floor. Terri graduated from Western Kentucky University where she was a cheerleader and ran track. She is currently a lawyer in private practice, but enjoys the time that she spends with her students here at Intrigue Athletics. She strongly believes that it is important for kids to be active in athletics and sports as it helps improve their health and body awareness while offering them opportunities to meet challenges and make lasting memories. At this time, the job that Terri enjoys the most is being the mother of 5 children-three of which are girls ages 9, 11, and 15 who compete on the team for Intrigue Athletics...GO INTRIGUE!!!
Michelle Scharfman-Cheer Coach-Baby Crazy Facilitator Michelle comes to us from Ohio, but grew up in Gainesville, Florida. She received a Bachelors Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Sports Management and also has received a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Florida. Michelle began coaching recreational gymnastics in 2000 and coached the High School Cheer squad in Florida for 4 years. While in Gainesville, Michelle became the Recreational Program Manager while coaching within the program while studying to attain her Masters degree. Michelle has also taught Special Education for 3 years while still living in Florida! Michelle is married to Kevin and has a 4 year old daughter Kaylee, and has recently ha another daughter Kennedy who is 11 months old. Michelle's main focus while coaching here at Intrigue is for her students to have fun while learning the fundamentals of cheerleading in a safe environment. She would like each of her athletes to gain an understanding of cheerleading motions, jumps, and cheers while promoting self-confidence. Michelle's favorite aspect of coaching is the look on her students faces when they learn something new and feels that children are ready to discover the world and experience pure joy when they feel they have mastered a new skill.
Kayla Grace-Pre-School/Recreational Coach Kayla was born and raised in Mt.Juliet, Tennessee by her parents are Kim and Tommy Grace. Kayla also has a thirteen year old brother, Kyle. She attended West Elementary, then West Wilson Middle School, and now is a sophomore at Wilson Central High School. Kayla began gymnastics at the age of seven and started competing when she was nine. She did gymnastics until she was fifteen and were she competed as a Level 8 gymnast. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, shopping, swimming, tumbling, and working out. Kayla absolutely loves coaching at Intrigue! Her favorite part of coaching is meeting new kids and helping them learn new skills. She enjoy seeing the smiles on their faces when they know they did something correct, it makes her feel like she's doing a great job!
Brittani Crain-Pre-School/Recreational Coach Brittani moved to Tennessee with her family from Ohio when she was 5 years old. Brittani is now 16 years old and is currently a Junior at Greenbrier High School in Greenbrier, TN. where she maintains a 3.875 GPA. Brittani is also a member of the Intrigue Competitive Gymnastics Team where she is competing as a Level 7/8. She has been taking gymnastics since she was 10 years old and loves being a part of this sport as an athlete and a coach. When Brittani is asked if she wished she had more free time, her response is a "NO!" Brittani is lost when not at the gym, and enjoys spending her free time here coaching classes. Brittani enjoys seeing the excitement on children's faces when they have accomplished something they have been working so hard to achieve.
Fasano Kingsley-Mascot Fasano is currently 3 years old and has no formal training or schooling but is the best behaved hound his owner, Phil, has ever had! Also known as "Fiz" for those of you who cannot pronounce Fasano, (Fa-sa-no) he is brought to work almost everyday because he loves his Daddy and also loves to assist Gina behind the front desk. He is a lover not a fighter but may bark to make sure that we know you're in the gym. Come say hi to him if you don't mind being slobbered on by the best looking hound this side of the Mississippi!!
